College guidance on AI in reflective writing — including the Royal College of Anaesthetists' — is clear: AI should not write your reflection for you, though it may prompt ideas to reflect on and adjust phrasing. That is exactly what this does. Every sentence in the statement you end up with is either one you typed or a phrasing change you explicitly accepted, and you can see which is which. A declaration of your AI use is composed for you at the end.

⚑ Special Interest Area — Stage 3 SIA Requirements
SIA statements need to demonstrate consultant-level independent practice at the SIA standard — beyond the equivalent curriculum Domain. The GMC expects an indicative 12 months (whole-time equivalent) of SIA evidence in total across your declared SIA combination — one Group 1 SIA alone, or a permitted combination (6+6, 6+3+3 or 4+4+4 months); a single Group 2 SIA alone is not a permitted route. Show curriculum mapping and cross-specialty integration with your core anaesthetic practice, and the majority of your evidence should be from the last five years. Many SIAs also expect you to be capable of leading the delivery of care in that area — check your SIA's own learning outcomes in the appendix, because the bar varies (for cardiac surgery, for example, it is contributing to the cardiac ICU ward round rather than leading it).
⚠ Verify against the RCoA 2021 Curriculum Annex E SIA syllabus and the GMC Anaesthetics SIA appendix (which defines the Group 1 / Group 2 / non-clinical combination rules). SIAs are part of Stage 3 CCT training, not separate post-CCT fellowships. Post-CCT qualifications (Toronto RA, FFICM, RCoA POM Fellowship) exceed the SIA bar — include only if held.
⚠ Before You Type — Three Critical Rules

No patient-identifiable data. Anonymise all clinical details — no names, NHS numbers, dates of birth, specific dates, or combinations that could identify a patient. Clinical detail such as age, ASA grade and comorbidities is not identifying and should be kept. You remain bound by GMC confidentiality duties.
2.
No fabrication. Every claim, number, and detail must be factually true and defensible under direct questioning. If a question asks about something that did not happen, say so or skip it — "nothing changed" is an honest answer and the coach will not penalise it.
3.
Answer as you would say it. Your answers become your statement word for word. Write them in your own voice — imperfect phrasing is fine and can be tidied at the end.
